Description

n Ichikawamisato, Yamanashi prefecture, we freed part of a parking space in front of a shop and designed it as a public space to create encounters. We designed a terrace that reflects the characteristic shop façade. This terrace is a fusion of garden and bench, where people can stay outdoors enjoying the company of people and plants. In an area increasingly dependent on the car, where people hardly meet on the streets, we hope that this public space will activate communication and increase people’s consciousness towards the district.

山梨県市川三郷町で、店舗の駐車スペースの一部を開放し、地域の人々の出会いを誘発するパブリックスペースのデザインを行った。店舗の特徴的なファサードを反転したようなテラス、庭とベンチを組み合わせることで、植物と共に人々が滞在する場を作り出した。道沿いに現れた公共空間が人々の交流を生み出し、新しい公共空間の体験は地域への意識を高めるきっかけとなっていく。
